The Pathways School – Anne Arundel

The Pathways School - Anne Arundel integrates academic, therapeutic, and vocational services through unique community-based programming for up to 24 high school students, ages 15-21 years, with emotional and behavioral disabilities. The cornerstone of the program is intensive individualization of the delivery of services within the community. Students are transported by their Community Support Staff member to receive programming within a variety of settings. Small academic group instruction, as well as, individual and group therapy sessions are scheduled for the Annapolis school site. Individual instruction, experiential learning opportunities, and career exploration are scheduled in community settings, such as libraries, community centers, and places of employment.

The course offerings allow students who have not been successful in traditional school-based settings the opportunity to earn a Maryland High School Diploma or a High School Certificate of Program Completion. This program offers credit courses for students through individual and small group instruction following county curriculum. Students are prepared to transition into the next phase of their lives. For some, this may be to prepare for a less restrictive secondary school placement or to take the GED test in the future, and for others, it may be to prepare for post-secondary education, career training, or the world of work.
