Academic, Therapeutic, and Vocational Services

The cornerstone of this program is intensive individualization of the delivery of services within the community.

Students are transported by their Community Support Staff member to receive programming within a variety of settings. Small academic group instruction as well as individual and group therapy sessions are scheduled for the Catonsville school site. Individual instruction, experiential learning opportunities, and career exploration are scheduled for full or partial days in community settings, such as libraries, community centers, and places of employment.

Unique community-based programming for up to 20 high school students, grades 8-12, with emotional and behavioral disabilities.
Students with multiple disabilities and in Grades 6 and 7 may be considered.

Course Offerings

Students are prepared to transition into the next phase of their lives.

The course offerings allow students who have not been successful in traditional school-based settings the opportunity to earn a Maryland High School Diploma or a High School Certificate of Program Completion.

This program offers credit courses for students through individual and small group instruction following county curriculum. Students are prepared to transition into the next phase of their lives. For some, this may be to prepare for a less restrictive secondary school placement or to take the GED test in the future, and for others, it may be to prepare for post-secondary education, career training, or the world of work.

To supplement these program services, Pathways offers student activities such as: team sports, arts and music, outdoor education, and service learning opportunities. In keeping with the Pathways mission, family activities are integrated into the school programs and include award presentations, holiday luncheons, and parent education workshops.
